With HLTV’s new system, coldzera has never had a negative event rating

How good is SK Gaming’s coldzera? According to HLTV’s new rating system, he’s even better than we thought.

The HLTV rating has long been a way of seeing how much of an impact a player had on a certain game or at an event. It combined a number of stats together to decide who did well and who didn’t. Anything above a 1.0 rating is seen as a positive and anything below 1.0 is negative.

This week the team at HLTV overhauled the rating system, adding in more variables to give a better idea of how well a player did at an event. They made this image to explain it, but we are still a bit confused.

HLTV's new rating systemevious events if the data needed was there. This meant that some good scores became even better and some bad scores became even more embarrassing.

And one of the real winners was coldzera, because under the new system he has never posted a negative rating in a tournament.

The closest that he came was a 1.0 rating at the ESL ESEA Pro League Season 2 and a 1.01 rating at IEM Katowice 2016, but that is still a positive rating. This stat certainly adds a lot of value to those who claim that he is the best player in the world, and if we are going on stats alone it is difficult to disagree.
