Most players know Dust2 like the back of their hand, but not everyone remembers to check the boost spots. There’s nothing like the element of surprise, so grab a friend and take advantage of these fine margins.
This boost is incredibly useful, but you and your teammate should each bring a smoke grenade to cover Mid Doors and Short, just to be on the safe side. Head around to Catwalk to perform the boost.
Player boosting: Hop onto the wall opposite Lower Tunnel and stand roughly in-line with the edge of the box on Middle. Take one step left so you’re on the edge of the wall. If you’re certain Mid Doors are clear, face Short and keep an eye out for any CTs who may try to peek around the corner. Hold crouch and wait for your teammate to jump onto your back. Now release crouch so they can stand on your shoulders. Continue watching Short until your teammate is ready to move.
Player being boosted: Follow your teammate and hop onto their back. Turn to face Mid Doors – this is the direction you’ll be shooting. Jump once again to stand on their shoulders. You should now be able to see over Mid Doors. If any CTs are lurking in this area, you’ll have a good chance of eliminating them as they won’t expect to see a T peaking over the arch. This is quite a risky boost, because you won’t have any cover to hide behind if the CTs decide to rush Mid Doors. For this reason, you’ll want to perform this boost relatively quickly then drop back down and continue making your way to a bombsite.
Long A Cross
From CT Start, walk to Under A with your teammate.
Player boosting: Walk over to the green sign on the wall and edge as close as you can to the corner of Under A. Ensure your entire body is covered by the wall and turn to face it. Crouch and wait for your teammate to jump onto your back. Release crouch so they can jump and stand on your shoulders. You’ll need to remain here until your teammate is ready to change positions.
Player being boosted: Once your team-mate is ready, jump onto their back. Jump once more to stand on their shoulders. You should be able to see Long A and part of Pit. This is a great position to hold as the Ts pushing Long A won’t expect you to be covering the area from this height. And if you miss your shots, at least you’ll gain useful information.
Not only does this boost provide a lot of cover, but it only requires your teammate’s help for a few seconds. Head to CT Start and walk over to the stack of boxes next to the red ‘B’ painted on the side of the wall.
Player boosting: Position yourself behind the stack of boxes and crouch next to the red ‘B’. Crouch to boost your teammate onto the boxes, then go find another angle to hold.
Player being boosted: Approach the stack of boxes and jump onto your teammate’s back. Jump while holding crouch to hop up onto the box. Standing here will conceal most of your body and enable you to watch B Doors and Window. You can also crouch to reload during firefights, and use the box for cover if you are spotted. We recommend using sniper rifles here, as you’ll be able to see through B Doors a lot easier with the scope.
Many players will be used to guarding Long A from the corner or even as far away as Car, but have you considered waiting even closer to the doors? Walk down Long A and stand near the blue dumpster opposite Long Doors.
Player boosting: Make your way over to the blue dumpster and jump onto the crate of blocks next to it. Hold crouch until your teammate is standing on top of the blue dumpster and then move away to hold another angle further back on Long A.
Player being boosted: Follow your teammate and jump on their back. Jump while holding crouch to hop up onto the blue dumpster. You will now automatically be crouching. Edge along the top of the dumpster while facing Long Doors and hold this angle. Be prepared for the Ts to peek around the left door (potentially with an AWP). Ts won’t expect you to be standing on top of the dumpster, but you’ll need lightning-fast reactions to take them out.
